Friends who have known me for the longest time know that I’ve stuck with wired earphones after losing several pairs of wireless ones over the past three years. But this year, I finally made the switch—and I have a feeling this pair is here to stay.

They fit comfortably in my ears, and for those who prefer a different fit, the package includes extra ear tips and stability bands that can be swapped out for a more secure and personalized fit.

After reading the manual and checking out a few online reviews, I downloaded the Bose QCE app on my phone—and it completely elevated my listening experience. The app is easy to navigate, and once I started exploring its features and adjusting the settings, the real fun began.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds: Are they good for work-life balance?
The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds come with three listening modes designed to suit different listening needs:
- Quiet Mode – delivers full noise cancellation
- Active Mode – lets you stay connected to your surroundings while still enjoying your audio.
- Immersive Audio – enhances your listening experience with spatial audio for a more immersive sound.
As someone who works from home full-time, I find Quiet Mode especially useful whenever I need to focus on my tasks without distractions.
I’ve tried several headphones and earbuds that claim to offer “noise cancellation,” but the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds easily provide the best noise-canceling experience I’ve had so far. They block out a significant amount of noise, making it much easier to concentrate.
With that being said, I wouldn’t recommend using Quiet Mode while walking outdoors, as it can make you less aware of your surroundings. I find it most useful when I’m working or simply enjoying music or a podcast without interruptions.
I also rely on Quiet Mode whenever I work outside, where background music and conversations from strangers can sometimes make it difficult to focus. With the noise cancellation turned on, I can stay productive while listening to my favorite playlists or podcasts.
After long hours of work, I always try to stay active by getting my daily steps in during the evening. That’s when I switch to Active Mode.
What I love most about Active Mode is that it lets me enjoy my music while still being aware of what is happening around me. This is important when I’m jogging or walking outdoors, where staying alert is essential for my own safety.
Beyond the different listening modes, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds also let you customize shortcuts through simple touch controls on each earbud. With just a tap, I can switch between listening modes or access my preferred controls, making it incredibly convenient to adjust my listening experience without reaching for my phone or switching through different apps.
Final thoughts
After just a few weeks of using the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, I can confidently say that I’m switching back to wireless earbuds.
What I love most about these earbuds is how seamlessly they fit into my everyday life. Whether I’m working from home, meeting deadlines at a café, commuting, going for a jog, or simply spending time with my friends and loved ones, they’ve become a reliable companion throughout my day.
