We couldn’t contain our excitement upon hearing the news from Kai herself, who’s ready to set sail as she brings life to “Hangganan Ko”—the Filipino version of “How Far I’ll Go,” one of the original animated film’s theme songs.

Watch the preview of Kai’s “Hangganan Ko” here:

On July 1, 2026, Disney kept fans on their toes with a snippet of “Hangganan Ko.” Sure enough, the preview was nothing short of magical, showcasing Kai’s powerful vocals in every verse. There’s no doubt that the full song is going straight to our playlists upon its release.

The live-action Moana follows the events of the award-winning 2016 animated film, which starred Auli’i Cravalho as the fearless titular character and Dwayne Johnson as the cunning, shapeshifting demigod Maui. Johnson will reprise his role in this year’s remake, alongside Catherine Laga’aia as Moana. Join them as they embark on a larger-than-life adventure across the islands and seven seas in hopes of restoring peace and prosperity among their people.

Janella Salvador brought pride to Filipinos in 2016 with her cover of “How Far I’ll Go.” Belle Mariano also represented the country in 2024 as the voice behind “Anong Daratnan,” the Filipino rendition of “What Lies Beyond” for Moana 2. We look forward to witnessing Kai do it all again this month with “Hangganan Ko,” an inspiring anthem about courage, hope, and one’s unwavering desire to make a change.

The live-action Moana premieres this July 8, 2026, in cinemas nationwide.
