We all know that Janella Salvador is a great singer. Remember that haunting cover of “Moon River” she did with Daniel Padilla on ASAP earlier this year? Now, the young singer is going higher as her cover of “How Far I’ll Go,” Moana‘s theme song was featured on Disney.
The cover was launched on both Disney Channel and the social media accounts of Disney Philippines.
Salvador is one of five singers in Southeast Asia who were tapped to cover the song. The other singers were Maudy Ayunda from Indonesia, Ayda Jebat from Malaysia, Myra Molloy from Thailand and Minh Nhu from Vietnam. The original version was sung by Alessia Cara.
Salvador started acting with a role in the hit show Be Careful With My Heart. Moana isn’t her first project with Disney: just last year, Hong Kong Disneyland chose her to represent the Philippines to sing the park’s 10th year anniversary song “Happily Ever After.”
