Christmas brunch is totally a thing, and Cow & Chicken is a modern brunch place that serves up local coffee, brunch fare, and craft cocktails, as well as a good wine selection. It’s literally a hidden gem in Kapitolyo (you have to go through a hidden alley to find it), but the rooftop view, cozy atmosphere and enjoyable comfort food makes the find worth it.

4. Dyce N Dyne

Feel like bonding over board games? Also near Kapitolyo, Dyce N Dyne has a vast collection of board games to choose from, with pretty novel concepts when it comes to food and drinks (Their Kare-Kare Burger is a must-try!). There is no Wi-Fi here, so you guys can focus on playing and having fun without your smartphones.

3. Black Sheep

The restaurant that closed down on Fifth Street at BGC is back, with a more elusive address, along the Chino Roces extension. At a relatively nondescript location, following the minimalist sheep head sign leads to a pleasant surprise — contemporary interiors and progressive Chinese-Filipino fare.

Hidden behind one of the walls of Lazy Bastard is ABV, a speakeasy-style bar that is named as one of Asia’s best bars. Come with your friends, chat with the mixologists and banter over great music. It’s like being transported to the 1920s Prohibition Era, and that’s a fine way to spend Christmas day.
