Ready to step up your fitness goals this 2018? athe 2018 World Vertical Circuit returns for the third Kerry Sports Manila Vertical Run, which will be held at one of the tallest buildings in Metro Manila: Shangri-La The Fort.

With 59 floors and five different categories, are you wondering how on Earth you’ll be able to climb that high under pressure?

Fortunately, we got to talk to two of last year’s fastest full challenge finishers, Aver Sister and Rosalyn Valdez, who shared some helpful tips on how to survive the Vertical Run challenge.

3. Be Mindful of What You Eat.

Prior to the challenge, you must condition your body weight to cooperate with you when climbing up those 59 floors. On the other hand, on the day of the challenge, you have to fuel yourself with just enough nourishment to give you energy to finish the run. Rosalyn suggests eating more carbs for more energy. Bananas are also a good pre-run snack to munch on.

2. Start Training Now.

The 2018 Manila Vertical Run offers special training for ts participants, which you can attend every Saturday at 9AM. For those who cannot attend the said training, though, you might want to start using those footbridges found all over the Metro. If you’re not too keen on using those, try to at least climb some stairs 100 times a day.

1. Know that You Can Do It.

Climbing up 59 floors is not an easy feat, but it isn’t impossible. It doesn’t matter how long it will take you to finish the race. What matters is that doing everything you can to get to the top. We promise that the view you’ll see after the race will be more breathtaking than the challenge itself.

A lot of fitness enthusiasts and sports personalities will also be at the run, including footballer and model Graham Caygill who will be trying the Vertical Run for the first time.
