With four golds, nine silvers, and 16 bronzes, the Philippine delegation comfortably surpassed its 18-medal total from the previous edition in Hangzhou, China.

Leading the charge was Olympic gymnastics champion Carlos Yulo, who delivered the nation’s first two gold medals of the 20th Asian Games in the men’s floor exercise and men’s vault events.

Olympian pole vaulter EJ Obiena contributed another gold medal after successfully defending his Asian Games title, clearing a height of 5.91 meters to set a new Asiad record.

Meanwhile, Asian Games debutant Jeus Yape made history by securing the country’s fourth gold in mixed virtual taekwondo. In addition to his gold in the digital discipline, Yape also earned a bronze medal in the men’s individual poomsae.

Historic silver and bronze finishes

Beyond the gold medalists, several other Philippine podium finishes marked major milestones. Abegail Sinogbuhan, Jean Marie Sucalit, and Nelly Jay Saron won a silver medal in women’s doubles sepak takraw, achieving the country’s best-ever finish in the sport at the Asiad.

Similarly, 40-year-old veteran archer Amaya Amparo Cojuangco made history by capturing the Philippines’ first-ever silver medal in archery, ending a 12-year Asiad medal drought in the discipline. Amaya’s journey toward the silver was remarkable, as she delivered a thrilling 142–141 semifinal victory over South Korea’s “Archery Goddess,” Park Jeong-yun.

The Philippines also broke new ground in 3×3 women’s basketball, as Kacey Dela Rosa, Kennan Ka, Amyah Espanol, and Maria Pasilang secured the country’s maiden silver medal in Asiad 3×3 basketball history.

Finally, Victoria Bossong ended a 32-year medal drought in women’s track and field by claiming a bronze medal in the women’s 800-meter final.
