17. PGT Robin Padilla
This meme came to be when a Korean contestant auditioned for a show in ABS-CBN calledย Pilipinas Got Talent and was publicly embarrassed by one of the judges, Robin Padilla, for not being able to speak in Filipino. Netizens were furious at Robin’s behavior. How did they express this outrage? Well, through witty twitter rants and memes, of course.
16. Sabaw Aling Vicky
Aling Vicky, or at least not-Aling Vicky, became famous overnight when a snippet of the filmย Baliktaran: Si Ace at Si Daisyย went viral. The clip is essentially about a girl calling Aling Vicky because her [Alingย Vicky’s] kid fell down a sewer. Aling Vicky then follows the girl as she runs towards the location of the sewer only to remember that she is not, in fact, Aling Vicky at all!

15. You’re road
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBhEugZM704
Filipinos took a liking to this meme for reasons that some found quiteย disturbing. To sum it up, the story behind the meme revolves around Jenny, a Filipina born from Urdaneta, Pangasinan, and Larry, her fiance. In the clip of the episode that went viral, Jenny tells Larry that he wasย roadย for not partaking in the welcome dinner that her parents prepared for the man.
14. Cardo Dalisay
Cardo Dalisay has seen manyย memes over the course of the show Probinsyano. Some time around July, an episode of the show featured Cardo riddled with gunshots to which fans responded: “Is this the end? Isย Probinsyano finally over?” Turns out, it was all an elaborate dream. Well, you know what they say. If it can’t happen, the next best thing is to make a meme about it happening instead.

13. Bakit ako matatakot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zARqkkCSXc
As for how this meme came to be, this man was interviewed by NewsTV and, quite possibly due to inebriation, challenged President Duterte to a gun showdown. Not a good idea.
12. Wala na, finish na
A bit dark and unsettling, this meme came forth from a not very pleasant situation. Still, we take it out of context anyway.

11. Advanced ako mag-isip
Albert Mangapit, the origin of the “advancedย ako mag-isip”ย meme claims that he can change the Philippines by doing… questionable activities?
Na-unfriend ko na sya bago pa nya i-flood timeline ko ng mga "advanced ako mag-isip" posts.

10. Malakas ang guardian angel ko sa likod
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUJWL2LU7yQ
While you may have heard people use this phrase whenever they survived something that they shouldn’t have been able to (e.g. that super long exam in Chem or Math), it was first used by a man who was attacked by his friend in the back with a–wait for it–a bolo. His guardian angel was guarding his back. LITERALLY.

9. BATTOUSSAI
The battoussai meme happened simultaneously with the previous meme. If we have the attacked spouting out relatable phrases like: “Malakas angย guardian angel ko sa likod,”ย then we have the attacker cracking us up with his funny quips, too. By imitating Kenshin Himura from the animeย Rurouni Kenshin, hisย friend was able to make it out in one piece.ย โGinaya ko lang si Battousai. Binaliktad โyung talim,โ he says.
