Tanghalang Nasyunal, the pioneer theater organization of National University, proudly announces its annual flagship production, Tanghal Season 2. Following a successful debut, this year’s season returns with a powerful trilogy of stories that dive deep into Filipino traditions, beliefs, and the resilient human spirit.

Three Stories, One Culture
Tanghal Season 2 features three distinct narratives that reflect the diverse Filipino experience, from the rituals of the Bicol region to the quiet corners of local trade and the solemnity of life’s end.
Mundong Malungkot, written by Jarelyn Waje and directed by Kyla Casapao and Jesy Manandeg, explores the world of embalsamuhan (mortuary science), offering a poignant look at life through the perspective of those who tend to the dead.
Isay ang Makakapagparahay, written by Leif Martin and directed by Cassandra Luna and Ericka Santana, brings the Bicolano tradition of santigwar to the stage, blending folklore and healing in a compelling cultural presentation.
Patahian ng mga Malaya, written by Aldrich Cancino and directed by Marrius Evalarosa and Issa Mae Dula, takes place inside a patahian (sewing shop), weaving together themes of freedom and the intricate threads of Filipino identity.

The flagship production will be held at JMB 410, featuring a 12-show run for the university community.
