17 Fun Restaurant Themes for You to Enjoy in Manila

10. Movies

If you are a movie buff, the Movie Stars Cafe at SM Mall of Asia is a must-visit. Not only will you see cool life-sized figures from your favorite geeky movies around the cafe, but you can also watch movies and musicals there!

9. Photography

If you love photography, then Manila’s first photography-themed cafe is the place for you. Coffee designs on the desserts, coffee mugs shaped like camera lenses – from the displays to the walls to the menu and even to the comfort room, Caffera stay consistent with its theme all throughout.

If you are a photography enthusiast, this is one place you shouldn’t miss taking photos of. Read our full review on Caffera here.

8. Prison

Admittedly a strange the theme for a cafe, you cannot deny that Caffe Piansa’s prison theme is a unique one. They prove that it can be a fun one, too. At Caffe Piansa, you can take cool mugshot photos at one of their walls and even dine behind bars. Don’t worry; the food does not taste like how you would imagine prison food to taste like. :p

Other cool things to see in the cafe? An electric chair, a court room, posters about the different types of execution that were done back in the day and waiters dressed like prisoners. Customers surely will not get bored while waiting for their food here. You can check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/caffepiansa

7. Harry Potter

It’s no secret how much we love Harry Potter after all of the Harry Potter-related posts we have come up with thus far. The Nook is definitely the best place for Potterheads to geek out over some butter beers and while basking in the general Harry Potter-ness of the place.

At The Nook, you can wear a Gryffindor robe, wave a wand, and actually feel like you are in Hogwarts. Read our full review on The Nook here. We heard there’s a cafe in the South called Mystic Brew that has a Harry Potter theme, too! Yehey!

6. The Beatles

If you live in the South and love The Beatles, head on over to Penny Lane. The name of the cafe just happens to be one of my favorite Beatles songs, but they also have cool posters and vinyl records up on the walls that will get your Beatles-lovin’ heart a’fluttering!

To top it all off, their drinks are great and their food is fantastic. Bacon-wrapped grilled cheese sandwiches anyone? Oh, there’s a cool bar in Katipunan that takes its name from The Beatles’ I Am the Walrus, as well. Read our full review on Walrus Bar here. For Penny Lane, you can check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pennylanecoffeeph

5. Chemistry

Calling all the scientists out there! If you wanna feel like a chemist or like you are in a laboratory, check out Bubba Lab Cafe. Not only do they have a huge periodic table up on the wall, but their seats are different elements, too. Of course, the staff members all wear lab coats, as well!

They even have local acts that perform during their open mic nights. Read our full review on Bubba Lab Cafe here. There’s a place in QC called Chemistea that serves all of their drinks in laboratory flasks, too.

4. Rock Music

When it comes to rock, what is the first themed place that comes to mind? Hard Rock, of course! Available all around the world, Hard Rock Cafe provides great live acts, great food, great drinks and great souvenirs. The best part would be the legit rock memorabilia that they have on display – it’s the stuff of legends!!!

3. The 80s

We all have a favorite era. It could be our own or an era from the past (or even the future – up to you). If you love the 80s, then Some Kind of Wonderful, named after a hit movie during the 80s, will surely take you back to that time.

2. Board Games

Board games are definitely making a comeback and various places have popped up providing board games as form of entertainment. After all, bonding with your loved ones over board games is the best experience ever – take it from me.

One of our favorite places to play board games in, though, would be Dyce n Dyne. Why? The interiors are splendid, the food is great, the people are friendly, the board game choices are endless and you get to buy Funko Pops on top of it all!!! Read our full review on Dyce n Dyne here.

1. How I Met Your Mother

Yes, there is a pub in Manila that is partly modelled after How I Met Your Mother’s McLaren’s Pub. While the place isn’t completely modelled after its TV show counterpart, this is as close as you can get to getting How I Met Your Mother back and feeling like you’re part of the gang.
