More than a year ago, I discovered what is now my favorite milk tea shop in Manila: Bubba Lab in Marikina. I remember how fascinated I was as I stepped inside the laboratory-inspired cafe with friends in tow, and we just had one great afternoon chilling and bonding over yummy drinks and treats. Just recently, I came back and, boy, how all those memories flooded my mind. Bubba Lab is still the place that I loved; the incredible menu a la periodic table of elements, the friendly scien-TEA-sts, the chem elements inside the place, and so much more.
What made me fall more in love with Bubba Lab is its fusion with one thing I’m so passionate about: music. Back due to popular demand, Bubba Lab once again hosts their Open Mic Sessions for Labmates who want to showcase their musical talent.
For the whole month of August, local acts will be performing every Saturday night. Some friends and I went last August 8, and enjoyed a night listening to fresh new talents, even singing along to their performances. From Maroon 5 to Eraserheads, Meghan Trainor to Up Dharma Down, each song carried so much heart and passion; so heartfelt yet light. Everyone in the room was just beaming with closed eyes, feeling the lyrics and melodies deeply.

Of course, a visit at Bubba Lab will not be complete without some food-tasting! We had some of their newest offerings and old favorites, as well.
Interesting drink! It’s Caramel Macchiato and a shot of espresso (yes, the liquid inside the syringe). It’s a fun way to have have your caffeine fix!
This is a syringe I won’t be afraid of.
Don’t get scared of its color. This Bamboo Charcoal Grid Cake is heavenly! With an added smoky flavor and deeper rich taste, you’ll surely come back for it!
Another addition to Bubba Lab’s TDF waffles is the Bubble Waffle! What we super loved about this is it’s crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. Imagine bubble wrap, but edible. Pop every ‘bubble’ and dunk it into a shot of chocolate! Yum!
Our favorite Labtizer, the Super Nova, has a special place in our hearts. We can’t help but to just have this again and again. With some cool and refreshing drinks too, in real Phyrex containers.
