Finally, a new hotel has been added to the list of trendy places to go to in Butuan. For the past couple of years, new hotels have been popping up in the city and this latest addition is one of the hippest yet. Watergate Hotel has an impressive display of modern contemporary design — with it’s clean lines mixed with cozy yet stylish furniture.
The result is a cozy space perfect for that much-needed downtime. To match the space, Watergate Hotel has a lifestyle center that includes its in-house restaurant Lime and Zest, Mandarin Tea Garden, Fulcrum Coffee Bar and Pick Me Convenience store. Other equally trending shops in the lifestyle center will also be opening real soon.
Recently, we finally had a chance to book two nights in this hotel. You see, we’ve been living in Butuan for the past two years and admittedly, we get really excited when a new place opens up as it gives us additional options on where to go and where to take our friends who come to Butuan for a visit. Of course, before we can recommend it to our friends, we ought to give any place a try ourselves, don’t you think? Oh, the sacrifices we have to make (wink!)!
For our first night, we were booked in their deluxe room. We were assigned a room on the second floor with a perfect view of the pool downstairs. The rooms, once you step in, are so darn inviting! The bed sheets are crisp and new, the air-conditioning system cool and comfortable, the towels soft and fresh and the rest of the room had all the other basic essentials one would need when staying in a hotel.
In their contemporary and stylish bathroom, they provide you with the bare necessities — complimentary toothbrush kits, soap, and shampoo. I have stayed in a number of hotels in the city and this by far, in terms of style, design, and amenities, has so far, outranked a majority of them.
