A song that can quickly give an LSS (Last Song Syndrome), Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass”, is the same song that catapulted her to popularity. After she performed this song on the ukelele to L.A. Reid, she was immediately signed by Epic Records and “All About That Bass” became one of the best-selling hits of all time.

Thus, it can be expected that this song will get revived even in the middle of its popularity via various parodies. One of the most popular parodies is made by the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) entitled “All About That Space”.

Now, another parody of this song surfaced on the Internet. Filipino-Canadian singer Mikey Bustos posted on his YouTube channel a Pinoy parody of “All About That Bass” with the title “I Go to Palengke” (I Go to Market).

At first look at the title, it might seem that it will not easily fit the original song, but watch the video below and see how well it really works.

The awesome thing with this parody, aside from the virtually perfect parody song lyrics, is that Mikey was able to show the culture of the Pinoy market or “palengke”. This includes going to the palengke early in the morning to get things fresh (like “when your fish is still breathing, you know it is fresh”) in a one-stop shop (there’s even barber shop!), supporting the local entrepreneurs, being cautious of the double dead meat and of your wallet, and bargaining for the lowest price (tumawad).

Next time you’re in the palengke, remember, “tu-ma-wad… tu-ma-wad…”
