Social media has its downsides but it also has its upsides, one of which is that it allows concerned citizens to immediately report concerns and crowdsource for help. One example is this one. A netizen reported that her homeowner association has just rounded up several stray dogs, to be surrendered to the city dog pound.
If no one will claim the pups, they will be put to death. City pounds normally schedule unclaimed dogs to be euthanized once a week.
Her call for help reached the ears of the animal welfare group Save All, whose administrators immediately mobilized a rescue operation, calling on the help of volunteers.
FIVE DOGS NEED YOUR HELP. THEY WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE PAYATAS POUND WHERE DOGS ARE EUTHANIZED EVERY THURSDAY, REPORTED Jocelyn Zulueta.
ONE dog is curled up in fear. He was shaking after being caught, was so afraid of other dogs in the cage for the first three days as they were all cramped in one cage, and now he looks so depressed, reported Ton Reyes.
A senior dog exposed to the rains for the past four days is now in danger of developing pneumonia, reported Jocelyn Zulueta.
A sweet puppy and a black young dog are clueless as to what will happen next, not knowing they will be killed if they are not rescued.
A small dog will be forever lost to his owner…
One dog– the most healthy- looking and a very friendly dog– was no longer in the holding place of Filinvest 2, Quezon City when Jocelyn visited this morning to feed them.
WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW.

The group was able to put together enough resources for a rescue. The pups have been brought to a vet clinic. They are not out of the woods yet, however. They need treatment for various ailments. They must also be vaccinated and neutered/spayed.
Here is the breakdown of the costs (so far).
1. NEUTERING cost – P1,500 each or a total of P7,500
2. VACCINATION (one shot only) – P500 each or a total of P2,500
3. ANTIBIOTICS AFTER NEUTERING – P300 each or a total of P1,500
4. Confinement since we cant find a foster and bringing 5 dogs for the desexing procedure , etc, will not be easy- P250 per dog for 14 days or P1,250 per day x P14 = P17,500
(TO CUT DOWN ON COST, SAVE ALL WILL SHARE DOG FOOD DONATED TO ITS RESCUES DURING THEIR STAY IN THE CLINIC.)
5. transporting cost
total needed without transporting cost yet: P27,500
According to reports, 10 dogs were already surrendered to the city pound before the rescue.
Since euthanasia is every Thursday, we assume those dogs are dead by now. Those dogs were healthy as can be seen in the video of Jocelyn posted early this week.
The rescuers cannot afford to cover all the medical costs for the remaining five dogs. They have already exhausted their funds. Save All is calling on your help.
Please donate any amount. Together, we can give these five dogs a second chance at life. Thank you and bless you all abundantly!
How to donate
Scan your deposit slips and send it to Maricel Mondejar or Day Carlos. Please also consider adopting these pups. They deserve a better life than the cruel one they have had in the hands of irresponsible and uncaring humans.
