UNLINKED Launches First Career Talk with Filipina Motorsport Journalist Anya Granados

UNLINKED, a new career community for Gen Z and people on non-traditional career paths, launches its first edition on Saturday, November 7, with Inside the Paddock, a live career talk with Filipina motorsport journalist Anya Granados. The event runs from 6 PM to 10 PM at Calle at 9465.

Move forward 20

Inside the Paddock looks at the jobs behind the grid, told by someone who works in them. Anya will cover three things:

  • How she broke into motorsport media
  • Journalism, presenting, and content jobs in motorsport, and what they actually involve on a race weekend
  • Building your own path: how to create work when the job you want doesn’t exist yet

The event’s tagline sums up the idea: the paddock has more seats than the grid. There are more ways into motorsport than driving the car.

Anya Granados is a Filipina motorsport journalist and presenter based in Europe and the editor-in-chief of 529sports.co. She is the only Filipina in motorsport journalism and presenting in Europe. She discovered Formula One in 2022 through a Schumacher documentary she watched to practice her German and turned that curiosity into a career. The Ateneo European Studies graduate now works with Envision Racing in the Formula E paddock, has interviewed over 80% of the grid, and has profiled Filipina F1 Academy driver Bianca Bustamante for The Philippine Star.

“A lot of people love F1 but assume the only seats that matter are the ones on the grid,” said Ryanna Skye Cabrera, founder of UNLINKED. “Anya built a career in the paddock starting from the same Ateneo classrooms many of us sit in. We wanted to put her in a room with people who are still figuring out where they fit.”
