Act Avenue Presents Four Original Plays in Kwentuhog: A Bedtime Story This November

Four original plays, one bed, two nights only this November.

We all have a complicated relationship with sleep. We know we need it, we promise ourselves an early night, and yet we end up scrolling at 2 AM, replaying conversations, planning escapes, or chasing a deadline that won’t wait until morning.

Sleep is where the body rests and the mind sorts through everything the day left behind. It is also where our worries, wishes, and unfinished stories tend to show up uninvited. This November, Act Avenue, now in its seventh year, turns that space into a stage with Kwentuhog: A Bedtime Story, another installment in its Kwentuhog anthology series.

Running November 28 to 29, 2026, at the Myra Beltran Dance Forum Studio in Quezon City, A Bedtime Story brings together four original, never-before-staged plays, each beginning and ending in a single bed. Some are funny, some are tender, and some will keep you up at night. All of them ask the same question: What really keeps us awake?

Sleep Buddies

Written by Jomari Jacinto | Directed by Xander Go

Featuring Simon Peter and Athena Lita

Leah hasn’t slept properly in nights, so she finally books a session with Dr. Julian, a sleep doctor who is certain of every diagnosis. In a quiet consultation room, the two try to put a name to what keeps Leah awake. But the deeper the conversation goes, the clearer it becomes that labeling a problem is far easier than facing it. Some answers only come when you stop looking for a name.

Jules and Dale are piecing together the ultimate escape to Sagada, mapping out every step of their dream getaway. But inside their apartment, the line between memory and destination begins to blur. How long can you hide from the truth before reality forces its way in?

As the deadline for the Philippine Art Awards draws closer, he faces an enemy far harder to beat than time: the chaos within his own mind.

A Day INA: LIVE!

Written by Jomari Jacinto | Directed by Xander Go

Featuring Michelle Martinez, Tiffany Chanel Ducusin, Angel Gutierrez, Xyzie Ridon, and Cloie Revilla

Viral vlogger Juicy goes live with a special segment to crown the internet’s “Best Mother.” The twist? The contestants are her own crew. Hair and makeup, director, PA, and cameraman all step in front of the camera to prove who’s the ultimate nanay. The plan is simple: play the games, eliminate each other, and hit trending. But tonight, the host isn’t running the show anymore. The chat is. And every comment comes with a price.

Full-show choreography will be performed by dancers Kael Niegos and Jhaymie Quistoria.
