‘Umbrella Academy’ Has Started Filming for Season 2!

Our favorite family of heroes is coming back to the screen soon! If you didn’t know, the lead vocalist and co-founder of the famous rock band My Chemical Romance Gerard Way is the creator and writer of the collection of comics and graphic novels called The Umbrella Academy where the hit series recently aired early 2019.

Season One of Umbrella Academy revolves around the story of seven children born from different mothers on the same day who was then adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves. The industrialist and world-renowned scientist Hargreeves then decided that his adopted children’s abilities should be used towards saving the world and has created them to be a famous family of superheroes. As the children go their separate ways as they grew older, the news of their estranged father passing away one day brings them back together. A common issue among the seven of them is their unique personalities and capabilities as a superhero.

The cast of the mystery-superhero series includes How To Get Away With Murder’s Mary J. Blige, The Mortal Instruments’ Robert Sheehan, Inception’s Ellen Page, Aidan Gallagher, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Merlin’s Tom Hopper, Grey’s Anatomy’s Kate Walsh and many more.

Gerard Way has recently been posting about the show where it officially marks the initial reading for the script to prepare the cast for the next season. As the read-through script for the hit series commences, the cameras start rolling for the first few scenes of the hit series.  As reports share, the new season will consist of 10 one-hour episodes.

Umbrella Academy’s showrunner, Steve Blackman, has previously mentioned he hopes to see that season two will not be that last season. ‘I hope we get a second and third and fourth season, but I knew that having a great ending is important for Netflix as a streamer. ‘You really want people to say, “I’ve got to come back and watch what happens.” That was ultimate in my mind,’ he shares in an interview with IndieWire.

After that cliffhanger, I’m very, very excited to watch the next season. How about you?
