This Local Brand Launched Beautiful Dresses with Malingkat Weaves from Mindanao

Weaves from the Malingkat Community in Mindanao helped create the beautiful new dresses by local brand KARIMADON.

Known for their classic dresses that are perfect for special occasions, KARIMADON now collaborated with the Malingkat community from Mindanao and designer Embi Nicolas. The ‘New Weave’ collection featured silhouettes that are perfect for different body types. Each piece is meticulously created to hug the body in the right places and create a flattering look.

“We have always been an advocate of supporting and giving livelihood to sewers from different provinces. We believe that it is time to expand our collection by incorporating local weaves from the Yakan tribe. This collection is made to highlight the weaves, but keep the style you love from KARIMADON,” says Josie Go, CEO.

#NewWeaveByKARIMADON is a seven-piece collection with four designs. The Mutya is an asymmetrical, full-length flowy jumpsuit that features the Yakan weaves on its waistband and gathered cuff.

For those looking for a pencil skirt dress, the Diwa comes with a sweetheart neckline cut and the signature Filipiniana terno sleeve.

The Dalisay is a mid-shin, box pleats dress with pockets and can be worn as an off-shoulder number. Both pieces come in two different colors and showcase the Yakan weaves at the hem of the sleeves.

A KARIMADON collection wouldn’t be complete without a long gown. The Tala is an elegant, flattering piece with a unique neckline and detachable belt. This gown comes in two colors as well.

“The names Dalisay, Mutya, Diwa, and Tala were taken from Filipino words that best define Filipino women. The colors in this collection are truly a combination of earth and feminine hues. These colors are what best embody the Yakan Tribe and KARIMADON,” says Embi Nicolas, Designer.

During the launch, KARIMADON introduced each piece with their muses who truly embody each design and what KARIMADON stands for.
