If you recall, Thai beauty queen Coco Arayha Suparurk once shared a story on her Instagram account with a photo of Catriona Gray and a caption calling her ‘fat’. (You may read the full story here: LOOK: Catriona Gray was called ‘fat’ by Thai Beauty Queen)
Until now, several comments are still being left on the Miss Grand Thailand 2019 winner’s Instagram. Evidently, many of Catriona’s supporters are still critical of Coco’s her body-shaming post.
On July 13, Coco guested on the talk show Orange Mama and was asked about the issue. As shared by Powerhouse PH, the translation to Coco’s response was: “If Cat will message me directly, I will apologize.”
Here are Cat’s thoughts on body-shaming:
Obviously I stand firmly against any form of bullying and bashing – online and off. It is never, ever okay to put someone down for the sake of “expressing your opinion”. With words come power and we should be using those words to build someone up and not pull them down. ?

“It is never, ever okay to put someone down for the sake of ‘expressing your opinion.’ With words come power and we should be using those words to build someone up and not pull them down,” she mentioned.
In addition to this, she gave advice to her 500,000+ followers on battling insecurities including being body-shamed.
Insecurities will always be there, but your ability to work past them is what you can work on. Be kind to yourself, we’re all works in progress and that’s okay. ?

Bodyshaming is hurtful and shld never be tolerated. If anyone reading this too has been bodyshamed, I know how it feels. I’m sorry you’ve had to experience that. But knw that you are more than your appearance. You are a capable, unique and worthy person. And you are never alone.
