These 10 Online Shops Offer ~the~ Cutest Cube Cakes

Now, that’s thinking outside the box!

I am a firm believer that any day is a good day for cake. Gone are the days when cakes are reserved for birthdays, and if it were up to me, I’d have one in my fridge every day.

Just as I am obsessed with cake, the packaging is another factor I consider. Tin cakes are cute and all, but I’ve already seen one too many. But a cake served in a clear acrylic box where you can see all the layers and all that deliciousness? And a square-shaped one at that? Now, that’s a visual treat, all right!

Here’s a list of some of the shops I’ve discovered with acrylic boxed cakes. These mini cakes are fascinating not only because you can visually appreciate the cake better, but also because it’s a mini cake all to yourself! So trust me when I say this, but if I could get a hold of all of them and eat one every day, I would.

Cube Cakes by Ila offers flavors similar to their classic cake options, but in smaller portions: Chocolate, Lemon, Vanilla, Red Velvet, Carrot, and Strawberry. They have three unique new flavors, as well: Chocolate Wine, Tres Leches, and Ube Velvet. If you’re worried about smooshed cakes due to motorcycle deliveries, Cube Cakes by Ila is a great option that won’t sacrifice quality. They’re the perfect size to satisfy your cake cravings without going overboard, too.

9. Baked by Trimy (IG: @bakedbytrimy / FB: https://www.facebook.com/bakedbytrimy)

The challenge of getting one big cake for the family is that not everyone likes the same flavor. The solution? Mini cakes! Baked by Trimy is a Quezon City-based online shop that offers these cakes in small sizes—and a bunch of them in boxes, too! Well, 4 cube cakes in a box, to be specific. Each cake comes in a 4 x 4 x 2.5-inch acrylic box and weighs around 350 grams.

From cookies to cheesecakes, pies, pastries, and cakes, Your Everyday Kneads offers homemade goodies for your cravings. For just PHP 300 each, you get one whole cake to yourself. Not only are they a visual treat to behold, but each box comes with layers of cake, mousse, and cream. And depending on whether you’re team chocolate or team strawberry, you can get fresh fruits on top and around or tons of chocolate shavings to go around. What a treat!

4. Torte by Mae (IG: @tortebymae / FB: https://www.facebook.com/tortebymae)

Torte by Mae is run by a mother-daughter tandem based in Antipolo, Rizal. Together, they bake a wide range of silky cheesecakes, tiramisu, and other cakes like a Pavlova in your choice of a tin can or acrylic box. And if you want to appreciate all the layers, I recommend choosing the clear cube box, no questions asked. That, and you get to keep the cake all to yourself that way.

If you’re craving some good ol’ cheesecake, you can choose from the classic Blueberry or Cookies and Cream. On the other hand, if you want cake, Torte by Mae offers the Classic Tiramisu, a creative take on this Italian dessert called a Matchamisu, and yet another classic: a Red Velvet cake. Just make sure to order 1 to 2 days before you plan on having it since these cakes are all made to order.

This boxed cake features layers of sponge cake, strawberry buttercream, and generous strawberry slices all atop for that fruity finish. Since this shop is busy making cake after cake, you can message them to find out when its next batch of boxed cakes will be available.

2. The Daily Bakes (IG: @thedailybakesph / FB: https://www.facebook.com/thedailybakesph/)

The beauty in a boxed cake lies in the layers you get in every bite. But if you’re looking for a crunchy surprise, you can get that from none other than The Daily Bakes! This Quezon City-based shop only makes one kind of cake and let’s be honest: it’s a masterpiece as is. From a chocolate ganache on top to moist chocolate sponge cake in the middle, finished off with a crunchy hazelnut base, each bite of this decadent cake is a treat!

Curious about what makes up the crunchy layer? It’s coarsely chopped cornflakes mixed together with hazelnut praline. That’s why chocolate fans and Nutella fans can agree on one thing: this cake is a must-have. Priced at PHP 550, this cake is delivered every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, but you better get your orders in fast since this shop gets fully-booked really fast.

1. Articaketure (IG: @articaketure)

Love chocolate just as much as I do? Then you’ll enjoy Articaketure‘s Nama Chocolate Cube Cake! This cake is different from most conventional cakes since it doesn’t have layers of sponge cake and cream—rather, it’s made up of only two components: Nama chocolate and a solid chocolate cake base.

Articaketure 2

Decadent, rich, and velvety on the tongue, the chocolate Nama layer practically melts in your mouth. Pair this with the crumbly, almost brownie-like bottom. And that’s not all there is to it. This base is lightly salted to contrast with the overall sweetness of the cake, which not only reduces the umay factor but also allows you to polish off the whole box with ease (and trust me when I say I did finish the whole cake by myself!). Just remember to let it thaw a bit before eating, otherwise, it’ll be hard to get into the bottom.

Aside from this indulgent cake, Articaketure also offers a Strawberry Tres Leches cake, which in contrast to this chocolatey cake, is much lighter and fluffier. Chiffon layers, cream in between, and strawberry slices on top make up this fruity cake. Yum!

But wait, there’s more! This Holiday season, you can give your loved ones this cake along with a lovely dried flower arrangement from Flora by Ina and a reusable clear bag. That way, you can see both cake and flowers in all its prettiness! This holiday bundle starts at PHP 1,350 for the standard bundle, while the premium bundle is priced at PHP 1,450. On the other hand, you can get the cakes on their own. The strawberry cake is priced at PHP 450, while the chocolate cake, on the other hand, is PHP 500.
