Stay Thin This Christmas with Healthy Foodie Manila

It’s that time of the year again. Now that December is near, our weekends will once again be filled with Christmas parties here and there. Knowing us Filipinos, it is a given that food (LOTS of it) will be served at these events. After all, what’s a party without food?

To our tastebuds’ delight, abundant flavors of different cuisines and dishes will be experienced during this time of the year. Before you know it, your pants begin to fit a little tighter. When you look in the mirror, you realize that you might be turning into Santa Claus, thanks to that protruding belly.

Interestingly, Healthy Foodie Manila’s menu changes every week. Each week, they focus on one cuisine, and then offer another the following week. During the time I tried their meals, the menu mostly consisted of Japanese dishes.

Gyoza with Asian Slaw

I’ve never had dumplings for breakfast before. That is why I found it quite odd when I saw this on my plate one Thursday morning. However, my doubt did not last long. The gyoza was pretty good. Definitely a lighter version than the usual ones we order at restaurants.

Yakisoba

I love that this dish has everything in it: carbs, veggies and meat. It may not be too obvious in the photo, but its sauce sets it apart from the rest. It may look like your usual pansit. After you have given it a try, though, you’ll be thankful that this dish was part of your meal plan.

Admittedly, my favorite from their meal plan was the snack, having the sweet tooth that I do. Their chocolate chip cookie certainly brought me to cloud nine. Moist and chewy, it was enough to tickle my tastebuds. I love that they served two big cookies. It was definitely a treat! Who would’ve thought you’d get this from a controlled calorie meal plan?

This December, our tastebuds and our appetite will get a little rebellious. Despite our attempts to discipline them accordingly, the generous amount of servings at Christmas parties will let them loose. They will make you want to eat and eat and eat irresponsibly. Don’t let them have power over you. Show them you’re the boss. With Healthy Foodie Manila, you can keep the figure that you’ve been working hard for all year long.
