So Here’s How Isaac Hempstead Wright Did Bran’s Stare in Game of Thrones

Bran Stark

If you’re one of the people watching the last season of Game of Thrones, you’ve probably noticed Bran’s intense stare. We’re not sure how actor Isaac Hempstead Wright pulled off that piercing glare but he revealed it in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel: he can’t see anything without his glasses.

He said, “I’ve gotten good at this sort of intense stare. But it’s actually aided by the fact that I’m completely blind when I’m on set. I don’t have my glasses, and I don’t have contact lenses.”

Wright added, “I was doing one scene in season 7 with Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa. And she said, ‘Isaac, your stare is like you’re staring into my soul!’ And I said, ‘I can’t see you. That’s why.'”
