Garmin officially unveiled its lineup of next-gen performance wearables–the ForerunnerⓇ 570 and ForerunnerⓇ 970 GPS smartwatches–alongside the new HRM 600 and HRM 200 heart rate monitors at a high-energy launch in Makati. The program, hosted by Garmin Run Club (GRC) coaches, celebrated the legacy of Garmin as the pioneer of GPS watches and showcased the brand’s continued leadership in innovation for both elite and everyday runners.

Maia Nazareno, Brand Manager for Garmin Philippines, introduced the new devices in the Forerunner series, highlighting how the Forerunner 970 is equipped with advanced mapping and analytics to cater to the data-driven, performance-focused athlete, while the Forerunner 570 introduces powerful insights for everyday training to everyday runners. Both models feature Garmin’s brightest AMOLED display, SatIQ™ multi-band GPS for superior accuracy even in dense urban areas, and advanced training tools including Training Readiness, Running Dynamics, and PacePro™ guidance.
The event also marked the debut of the Garmin HRM 600, a premium rechargeable heart rate monitor that unlocks next-level metrics, especially when paired with the Forerunner 970.
To demonstrate the devices in action, attendees joined a special run led by Garmin Run Club through Makati’s business district. The 5KM route was purposely designed to pass through GPS-challenging areas with tall buildings, giving participants a firsthand look at the improved tracking accuracy of the new Forerunner smartwatches.
Garmin also emphasized the safety features built into the Forerunner models, including a built-in flashlight, fall detection technology, and the ability to set up emergency contacts through the Garmin Connect app to ensure peace of mind for runners on the road.
Road to Garmin Run 2025
The launch event also kicked off momentum for the upcoming Garmin Run Manila, which will take place on October 26, 2025, at Filinvest City, Alabang. Through the Garmin Run Asia series, the Philippines has become part of a dynamic network of running events across major Asian cities, bringing together a vibrant community of runners of all levels chasing personal bests and celebrating fitness. The event invites runners of all levels to participate, with 5KM, 10KM, and 21KM categories included.

In preparation for the run, GRC is inviting interested runners to join its three training chapters across Metro Manila: GRC North (in UP Diliman), GRC Central (in McKinley West), and GRC South (in Filinvest City). Each chapter offers weekday evening and weekend morning training sessions, with occasional joint workouts at the Ultra Track in Pasig City. These sessions are spearheaded by certified Garmin coaches and are aimed to help runners gear up for the October race, while also showing them how to make the most of their Garmin smartwatches to train smarter and better. Registration for Garmin Run Manila 2025 is open via the official event website.
The Forerunner 570 (PHP 33,490), Forerunner 970 (PHP 45,690), and HRM 600 (PHP 10,290) are now available at all Garmin Brand Stores, Garmin Specialty Stores, and online through official Garmin stores on Kinetic, Lazada, and Shopee.
