Sky Fitness: Get a Custom Workout Program Made for You
Due to my fast-paced media lifestyle, I have always struggled with health. The stress and sleepless nights have always taken a toll on my body – and fast food never helped, either. This is why I have been recently obsessing with health and fitness, whether in terms of food or on exercise.
I try very hard to squeeze in a few workout sessions within the week now. I always tell myself that aside from balanced diet, I need to exercise to get fit, too.
I would say this is a match made in heaven: Sky Gavin meets Sky Fitness.
Get a Custom Workout Program at Sky Fitness
The facilities and the general look and feel of Sky Fitness gym are very good. Just by the entrance, you will find friendly receptionists who will help you with whichever workout program you are interested in.
Sky Fitness offers a variety of fitness programs depending on what you want to focus on.
They have workout programs for Olympic Training, Injury Rehabilitation, Suspension Training, Circuit Training, Weight Management, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Specific, Functional Training, and Plyometrics. They even have fitness diet regimens.
In regular gyms, there is a usually a general workout program available. At Sky Fitness, however, they assess your posture and movements first to help your trainer/coach design a workout program that will fit your strengths and correct your weaknesses.
First on the list is Foam Rolling or what they call Self-myofascial release. It’s not the usual stretching. Instead, you sway on the foam roller to relax the muscles and stimulate stretch reflexes. It’s better to do this to prepare for a workout because it will make the body more flexible and correct muscular imbalance.
Sky Fitness is known for their Optimum Performance Training, which is a comprehensive training program that provides ‘great results specific to individual needs and goals’.
Cardio workouts are important in order for the body to function well. They keep your heart healthy and protect you from diseases because a healthy heart and strong lungs will sustain the body with the oxygen that it needs to keep your blood pressure on a normal level.
When we hear about Core exercises, we usually think about getting great-looking abs, but there is actually more to them than that. Core exercises also help the body stabilize the lower back, for example, which is great if you like carrying your backpacks and/or tend to sit for long periods of time. By improving your core, you can actually make your back stronger and improve your balance and coordination at the same time.
I’ve always been curious about TRX or suspension training. That’s why I was a bit excited when I found out that I will be trying it out for my OPT.
TRX stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise. It uses one’s body weight to strengthen and improve one’s balance, coordination, core and flexibility. Another interesting thing about it is that you are completely in charge of how much you want to push yourself just by adjusting your positions and body weight.
At the end of the training, you’ll do the finishers workout, which includes a set of rope workouts and ball slams.
When we workout, we usually think it isn’t necessary to cool down. However, it happens to be one of the most vital parts of exercising if you want to avoid injuries and relax your muscles.
Sky Fitness offers one-on-one training with their clients, making the experience more effective (you can’t cheat on counts). Plus, since the workouts are tailored to each person’s needs, you won’t just achieve a fit and healthy body; you will also learn how to commit to your program in order to obtain maximum effectiveness.
If you don’t like working out by yourself, Sky Fitness also offers group workouts/classes for Boxing, Cardio, Zumba, Retro, Hip Hop and Latin Dance.
If your office has its own gym, Sky Fitness also offers corporate programs that can help employees improve their health and overall lifestyle without asking them to go out of their way.
All workout sessions depend on the pre-assessment with a trainer or coach, though, which is why all of the prices and workout programs are only available when you visit the gym. They will figure out how many sessions you’ll need and what would fit your lifestyle best.
