What would you do if you had the chance to share the stage with Usher? While many fans would have eagerly embraced the opportunity, one Tennessee concertgoer’s reaction instantly made waves online.

Usher, who is currently co-headlining “The R&B Tour” with Chris Brown, serenaded a woman during the July 24 show in Nashville. What could have been a dream moment quickly turned into an awkward onstage encounter when the fan remained stiff and visibly uncomfortable as the 46-year-old singer attempted to nuzzle her neck and dip her backward on the bed prop.
The singer made one last attempt to engage with her before turning to the crowd with a puzzled look on his face.

“I don’t think she wants to be on stage,” he said before walking away.
The internet was divided over the viral moment. Some argued that she should not have gone onstage if she wasn’t comfortable with the interaction, while others praised her for maintaining her boundaries and respecting her personal space.
“So she just wanted to be seen?? She knows what going on the stage is about!” one social media user wrote.
Another commented, “She has class and self-respect. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.”
As clips of the concert quickly went viral, the woman faced backlash over her reaction. In response, she shared her side of the story with TMZ.
She explained that her reaction would have been very different if Chris Brown had invited her onstage instead.
“Me, solely, I went to the concert for Chris Brown. It’s nothing against Usher,” she said.
“So, of course, it would have been a different reaction with Chris Brown… It wouldn’t have been the stiffness or whatever the internet is portraying,” she continued.
She revealed that she had been approached and upgraded to the VIP section before the show began without being told what to expect. Had she known in advance that she would be brought onstage with Usher, she said she would have declined.
Moreover, she emphasized that it was all just a matter of preference: “I mean, I’ve been listening to his music since I was a little girl,” she said. “I know his music, but I can prefer one artist over the other.”
However, she insisted that it was never her intention to ruin the fans’ concert experience.
