A viral clip of a Thai woman confronting a group of foreign tourists has made waves online, sparking discussions about proper travel etiquette in Thailand.

On TikTok, the account 1234aaawry shared the video, which reportedly showed a confrontation that began after a Thai woman politely asked a group of teenage Italian tourists with their study-tour operator to lower their voices inside a Bangkok BTS Skytrain, as they were allegedly speaking loudly.
According to the video, a passenger began recording the incident on her phone after the noise continued. One of the tourists then noticed the camera and allegedly tried to block or push it away, prompting the woman to repeat her request for the group to lower their voices.
The situation escalated when a male tourist reportedly asked the woman what her problem was. She explained that she wanted the group to speak more quietly because they were in a public space and their loud conversation could disturb other passengers on the train.
Although one member of the group apologized, he allegedly made an aggressive remark about “bringing money into your country.”
As tensions rose, security officers intervened at the next station and escorted the tourists off the train.
The viral clip has since sparked conversations about disrespectful behavior among tourists in Thailand, as well as the importance of observing proper travel etiquette and showing respect for local customs when visiting another country.
Following the incident, the Italian tourists issued a public apology.

“This incident has now been fully resolved. All six Italians who appeared in the clip have already apologized to us,” TikTok user 1234aaawry said in a separate post, adding that she has already deleted the original clip as agreed by both parties.
“In the end, we never wanted this to escalate or create hatred towards any nationality. From day one, all we did was protect our own dignity and rights from being insulted and harassed. Thank you for all the support,” the TikTok user added.
