Sam Milby was emotional after opening up about his breakup with Catriona Gray.

In an episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on March 3, 2025, Sam was asked how he was doing and how he was handling the breakup.
“Honestly, not well,” he revealed, adding that the breakup has been rough on him. “It’s hard to talk about the breakup, it’s something that I didn’t want to talk about.”
“I actually didn’t want to talk about it. Sa amin ni Cat, we’ve always been private about our relationship. And out of respect sa kanya, I still don’t feel comfortable talking about our relationship.”
Then, the 40-year-old actor broke into tears when he was asked to share his side of the story
“It’s really been rough. I mean, it wasn’t only [because] mag-boyfriend, girlfriend kami. We were engaged,” he said. “And to have that not push through, it’s been really rough, honestly.”
He shared, teary-eyed: “If people think that it’s been easy for me, it hasn’t.”
Furthermore, he was asked about his reaction to the beauty queen becoming emotional during TJ Monterde’s concert in early February.
“It was really hard [to see] a woman that I still love and care about [sitting] a few seats away from me crying,” he admitted. “But if people thought that I was comfortable, [it] was the complete opposite. I was not comfortable during that concert.”
He stated: “It was a hard situation and I was kind of frozen at that time.”
“If you want to ask if we are okay, we are okay,” he said. “Kami ni Cat (Cat and I), we’ve always been private about our relationship… We share certain things nung na-engaged kami (when we were engaged), but in terms of the details, and buhay namin (our life), we haven’t really shared.”
The ex-couple went public with their relationship in May 2020 after dating rumors sparked between them in January 2019.
In February 2023, the ex-couple revealed that they were engaged. However, speculations about their breakup surfaced when keen-eyed netizens spotted that the beauty queen was no longer wearing her engagement ring at public events.
