Saab Magalona took to social media to open up about her recent hospitalization due to a rare congenital condition, Meckel’s Diverticulum. According to Cleveland Clinic, it is a congenital outpouching or bulge in the lower part of the small intestine.

On Instagram, she posted a photo of her and her husband, Jim Bacarro, holding hands in the hospital room as she detailed what happened.
The singer-actress and content creator shared she was palpitating and “white as a ghost” during their morning flight to Boracay on December 17. Upon checking her blood pressure and temperature, which both turned out normal, they proceeded to their trip. However, she said she got dizzy when they got off the plane and passed out after taking a long nap.
“I woke up to Jim screaming for help outside the hotel door with me in his arms, my soiled pants, and vomit all over my shirt,” she added.
Magalona also mentioned that the staff at the resort facilitated their van ride to the nearby clinic, late-night boat ride, and ambulance ride to a hospital in Kalibo.
She continued, “I was in the ICU for the past few days doing blood transfusions (thank you to my mom for getting in touch with Red Cross ), and yesterday I was finally transferred to a regular room.”

The 35-year-old revealed that she suspected stress might have triggered her Meckel’s Diverticulum, which causes internal bleeding.
She emphasized that she’s now stable and awaiting clearance, “My hemoglobin is back to normal, vital signs have been stable for days, just waiting for clearance so we can get back to Manila and undergo surgery. Our boys are flying back with our wonderful family today. Will post a separate update on them later.”
“Stay safe and listen to your bodies, everyone! Thank you Lord for giving me another day. For now I will relax, heal, and watch Masterchef while holding hands with my hero,” she concluded.

Magalona has been married to Bacarro since 2015. They have two sons, Pancho and Vito Tomas.
