4-Way Match for the PHX Title: Peter Versoza © vs Chino Guinto vs Ralph Imabayashi vs SANDATA

All three challengers attacked the PHX champ at the start of the match. With Versoza and SANDATA sent out of the ring, it would be an epic battle of strikes between Chino Guinto and Ralph Imabayashi. Ralph delivered a deep dropkick on the corner for 2, but Guinto fought back with a perfectplex which also garnered a 2 count. Versoza and SANDATA return to the ring and had a mini Dual Shock reunion. First, they took Imabayashi out with a big swing/dropkick combo and would do their corner attack on Imabayashi and Guinto. SANDATA ended the reunion as he went to work on Versoza’s legs. Versoza was dropped by an assisted codebreaker from Chino Guinto and SANDATA. Ralph Imabayashi would be unhinged midway through the match, delivering a barrage of slaps to Chino Guinto.

SANDATA tried to secure a victory with an ankle lock on Versoza, only to eat a Sonic Crusher from Imabayashi. Versoza was in a Karne Norte Stomachbreaker spree as he delivered the move on SANDATA and Imabayashi. Guinto hit his gold digger stomp on PV and almost got the 3. Chino would deliver another gold digger stomp, this time to Imabayashi, and pinned him and PV for the victory. Chino Guinto became the NEW PWR PHX Champion.

“Beautiful” Billy Suede vs “The Senyorito” Jake De Leon

The internationally acclaimed wrestler Billy Suede took on 2-time PWR Champion, Jake De Leon in a match of epic proportions. JDL used his strength at the start to take down Suede with some hard clotheslines. JDL would miss a cannonball on the corner and Billy Suede capitalized with a neckbreaker. Both men exchanged some hard chops to the chest inside the ring. JDL caught Suede with a hip toss into a cross armbreaker. Suede countered it to a pin for 2. Suede with a double axe-handle smash from the top rope on JDl also got a 2 count. Suede kept JDL grounded for a bit before JDl sent him to the outside. JDL was about to perform a dive off the ropes but Suede caught him with a beautiful looking kick, and in effect, stopped JDL on his tracks.

Crystal vs Robynn

Both women tried to get the advantage at the start of the match upon the initial lockups. Robynn would ground Crystal with a neckbreaker. Robynn “Bahala na si Batman” to the outside on Crystal. Crystal tried to work on Robynn’s legs with a figure four leglock only for the latter to reverse the submission move. Robynn drove Crystal to the mat with the twist of fate and almost got the win, had Crystal did not put her foot on the ropes. Robynn kicked out of Crystal’s devastating finishers, the Solemate and the Shinning Crystal kick respectively, to the amazement of her opponent. Robynn secured the win against Crystal as she locked her in a body scissors dragon sleeper hold she calls the “Robynnhood”.

For the PWR Championship: John Sebastian © vs Chris Panzer

This was the long-awaited rematch from last year’s Wrevolution X. Both men locked up at the start and put on a great display of chain wrestling. Panzer tried to finish the bout early with a quick Panzerschreck, but he missed. Sebastian tried for the Kill shot, but Panzer caught his leg to stop the attempt. Panzer got in control of the match with bodyslam and a legdrop on the champion. Sebastian caught Panzer mid-air and managed to deliver a fallaway slam after he struggled to counter the momentum of his opponent. The fans who chanted “Wag sa Mukha” after Sebastian punched the challenger’s face would boo the champion and start chanting “You’re not pretty” at one point in the match. Sebastian connected with a John Cena Attitude Adjustment but only got a 2 count on Panzer. The referee got hit by one Panzerschreck and a Killshot from Panzer and Sebastian respectively.

pwr-wrevolution-x-2017-when-in-manila-sebastian-panzer-3Panzerschreck!

With the referee out of the picture, both men took the battle outside. They reached the yellow scaffolding where Chris Panzer laid out John Sebastian and the ring crew with a spectacular Eagle Splash (Frog Splash) from the top. Sebastian pulled out a ladder and attacked the challenger with it outside. Both men returned to the ring and continued the brutal match. They exchanged some hard forearms and strikes inside the ring before Panzer finally connected with a Panzerschreck for a near 3 count. Panzer went for another go at it, but was caught in a powerbomb by Sebastian. The PWR Champ took Panzer down with a Killshot and almost got the 3 count had Panzer not grabbed the ropes. Chris Panzer would pull off TWO successive Panzerschrecks but John Sebastian kicked out at 2.

The end saw both men climb up to the ladder that was inside the wrestling ring. Chris Panzer sent John Sebastian down from the ladder before he connected with an awesome Eagle Splash from the top of the ladder and pinned the champion 1…2…3! Chris Panzer finally captured the PWR Championship and erased all doubts that he can deliver in a high stakes match.

In my opinion, Wrevolution X 2017 lived up to the hype as PWR’s biggest and grandest event for 2017. I would like to give a shout out to the hard working people of PWR for giving us a great show. 2017 is not yet done so I can’t wait to see this company’s next show (which I heard is going to be sometime in late May).
