PLDT’s Last Home Stand: Welcoming the Team Fibr All-Stars from the NBA to Manila!
In recent history, the Philippines has been the venue of some of the most historical NBA events in the Southeast Asia region: Witness History (Lebron James) event, the first ever NBA Pre-Season Game between the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers, Kobe Returns to the Philippines, and the NBA All Stars vs Smart Gilas in 2011.
Now, the Philippine stage has been set for another epic NBA event: PLDT’s Last Home Stand featuring Team Fibr All Stars vs Team Smart Gilas Pilipinas!
Media representatives and fans eagerly waiting to see the players of the PLDT Fibr All Star Team
To begin this epic NBA event, PLDT hosted a press conference at the NBA Cafe in SM Aura in BGC to highlight the upcoming 2-day charity event on July 22 and 23 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. PLDT brought in a few members of the Team Fibr All Stars to give the press and the audience a chance to see and interact with the players before the games, including Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, Brandon Jennings, the 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Champion Terrence Ross, DeMar DeRozan, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Kyle Lowry, and Ed Davis.
The PLDT All Stars Panel: Kawhi Leonard, Brandon Jennings, Terrence Ross, DeMar DeRozan, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Kyle Lowry, Ed Davis, John Lucas, Chot Reyes, and Ariel Fermin.
Aside from the Team Fibr All Stars players, Coach John Lucas, the man who will be coaching them; Coach Chot Reyes, the Head Coach of Team Gilas Pilipinas; and PLDT Executive Vice President Ariel Fermin were there, as well..
The 2-day event will not only be about the game between Team Fibr All Stars and Team Gilas Pilipinas, either. It will also include many other events for the audience, including three-point shoot-outs, slam dunk exhibitions, and a special show by the Air Elite Dunkers.
Although the main attractions of the event are the NBA All Stars and the main event game, let’s not forget what this two-day event really is all about: it is a charity game to help the beneficiaries of the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation and Caritas Manila. So, as Filipinos who breathe, eat, sleep, and live basketball; let’s not only support the NBA and PBA players who’ll be participating in PLDT’s The Last Home Stand, but let’s also help and give to those in need.
