In celebration of White Rabbit’s 60th-anniversary tea stores officially collaborating with the brand have been ‘popping up’ in China. One, in particular, had quite the frenzied welcome. The pop-up bubble tea store and merchandise store set up in LuOne mall in Shanghai saw a line of around 4 hours stretch out.
(White Rabbit ice cream is real and you can get it in Manila)
All sort of commemorative items were being sold like cushions, shower creams, tote bags, and more. But it was bubble tea drinks that people were really lining up for. There were 6 flavors being offered: lemon tea, lemon tea with ice cream, milk tea, milk tea with crystal pearls, tiramisu milk tea, and tiramisu red bean milk tea.
Despite the pop-up store being open for 3 months, people actually waited out the long queue in the first days. There were even bubble tea scalpers, selling the drinks for 4-5 times its price.
Though we’ll never be able to taste this version exactly and won’t be able to say whether the line was worth it, we do have our very own version here.

Milk tea shop Oh My Tea just launched their own take on the childhood candy with their White Rabbit Milk tea. The drink is available in all branches starting June 12 for a limited time. Of course, it comes with a piece of the iconic candy!
What other nostalgic milk tea flavors should people try out?
