Vico Sotto tested positive for COVID-19 as announced on his Facebook page last night. He wrote on the evening of January 15, “Hi everyone, bad news, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. I have [a] sore throat, fever, and body aches, but please don’t worry!”

The Pasig City mayor reassures everyone that he will continue to work remotely despite contracting the coronavirus. “I’ll continue to work remotely while in isolation for the next 7 days,” he continued.

Apparently, Sotto had several close calls during the pandemic and reiterated how the latest variant spreads faster. He added, “Naka-ilang close calls ako sa Delta (gaya nung sa driver ko mismo) pero ‘di ako nahawaan. Matindi talaga ang pagkalat ng Omicron.ย sabi nga ng ibang eksperto, LAHAT TAYO ay mae-expose sa variant na ito,” he emphasized.

Finally, he advised everyone to take good care of themselves and stay at home when experiencing symptoms. “Kaya lagi po tayong mag-iingat, palakasin natin ang ating mga resistensya, at maging responsable โ kung may sintomas wag na munang lumabas,” the mayor concluded.
