It’s official: Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto are teaming up for a much-awaited big-screen project.

On July 5, Star Cinema confirmed in a social media post that the two noontime icons and comedy stars are sharing the big screen.

“Sanib-pwersa na para sa saya! Get ready for a movie event that brings everyone together through laughter,” Star Cinema captioned its post.
At the same time, the duo shared the stage to announce the big news.

“Katulad ko, alam niyo lahat din kayo inaantay itong pagkakataon na ‘to. Minsan lang ‘to mangyayari at gusto mangyari ‘to noon pa man. Sa ngayon, nagtagpo na kami. Hindi lang una at huling beses niyo kami makikita dahil mapapanood niyo kaming magkasama sa isang pelikula,” Vice shared.
Similarly, Vic said: “Meron po kaming sorpresa para sa inyo lang. Salamat sa mga Dabarkads, sa lahat ng madlang people. Ito po ‘yun para sa inyo.”

Directed by Jun Robles Lana, “The Greatest Showdown” is set to be a collaboration among ABS-CBN Studios, Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, M-Zet Productions and APT Entertainment.
The upcoming project is set to feature two of Philippine entertainment’s most notable comedy stars. Through the years, Vice Ganda has released multiple box office hits at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), including Sisterakas, Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, Beauty and the Bestie, and And The Breadwinner Is…, among others. The icon’s latest MMFF entry, Call Me Mother, earned her first-ever Best Actor award.
