Within the number of times that I have visited Nono’s, they have never failed to satisfy my appetite. It even came to the point where I wanted to ask if there was anything bad on their menu since they never fail to impress me. From the impeccable customer service to the delicious and well-presented dishes, I can’t seem to find any disappointment in this restaurant.
True to Nono’s homey ambiance, I always feel at home and comfortable whenever I go to the restaurant. Their pastries and desserts are my all-time favorites, and I’m still wondering why their ensaymada and chocolate chip cookies are so underrated here in Metro Manila. I mean, they can really compete with crowd favorites. However, what I love the most about this restaurant is how they offer the best of both worlds. Whether you want some dessert or a full meal with your family or friends (or both!), they will never let you down.
So when I got to try their new menu at Nono’s Sundown Feast, I set my expectations high – and again, they did not disappoint. From the starters all the way to dessert, everything is on point and delectable. With that said, here’s what you can expect from Nono’s newest menu offerings:
Parmesan Truffle Fries (Php255)
Deep-fried fries coated with grated parmesan cheese and truffle oil and with a paprika aioli dip, these fries are the comfort food of my dreams. It’s a great starter for any meal when dining at Nono’s.
Chicken Lettuce Wrap (Php295)
This is a personal fave of mine. If you want a healthier option as an appetizer, this Chicken Lettuce Wrap is the way to go. Served with crunchy, fresh romaine lettuce leaves; it has chicken, tofu, water chestnuts, and shiitake mushrooms cooked in an oriental sauce. A vegetarian option is also available for this dish upon request.
Chicken and Waffles (Php345)
If you want to have breakfast food in the middle of the day, but also want something heavy, Nono’s has got the perfect pairing of Chicken and Waffles for you. You can either get the Nono’s Homestyle Chicken or a Honey Sriracha-glazed crispy chicken fillet with their homestyle waffles. Don’t forget to dip your chicken in their honey and gravy mix, either, which is their signature flavor for the chicken meal.
Nono’s Sisig (Php325)
Their classic take on a classic dish, Nono’s Sisig will not fail you. Think of the sisig that you eat at your favorite inuman place, but healthier and more flavorful. This sisig has crispy pork belly with calamansi, red onions, chili peppers, chicharon, and garlic chips. Of course, it wouldn’t be sisig without an egg on top and a serving of garlic rice! Yum!
Miso-Glazed Salmon with Red Rice (Php525)
I was speechless after I got to try this dish. It has the perfect balance of sweet and salty with the salmon melting in my mouth with every bite. The salmon fillet is baked and glazed with Japanese miso, making it flavorful; then served with red rice and corn kernels. Perfect!
Shrimp el Diablo (Php425)
Last but not least is the Shrimp El Diablo, which will leave you satisfied sans the guilt. Made with pan-roasted shrimp with chili pepper flakes, garlic, onions, and red capsicum, and cooked in olive oil and tomato-herb sauce; this dish will leave you full without that greasy feeling.
Chocolate Chocolate Cheesecake (Php175)
To cap off your sumptuous meal at Nono’s, do not skip their dessert. Skipping Nono’s desserts is like buying a movie ticket and going to the cinema without finishing the movie. Dessert happens to be Nono’s strongest point; and yes, you read that right: this cheesecake is called CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE. Don’t let the name fool you, though, because this dessert has just the right amount of sweetness to make it the best finisher to your meal. Pair it with some coffee or eat it on its own. Either way, you’ll be good to go.
