Nix Designs: Classy One-of-a-Kind Handcrafted Creations Offered at Reasonable Prices
When in Manila, we celebrate our uniqueness by trusting our own taste and expressing ourselves through our own preferences. We do not seek to be the same as everybody else; rather we take delight that each of us is different in his or her own right. Ever since its inception, Nix Designs has been an emblem of this ideal. Created in 2006, although seemingly hidden in the limelight, this brand has remained in the business, with several repeat customers and patrons.
When asked where she gets ideas for her creations, owner Nica Eustaquio candidly replies: “Depends on my mood, really. I design whatever I feel like making. I let my inspiration guide me. My creations are reflections of my emotions, feelings, and inspiration.” She says it just like that: plainly, straight to the point, without any pretence or sugar-coating, revealing that she is comfortable with her own brand.
Originally marketing her merchandise to teenage girls, Nica was surprised when her reach went beyond expectations. Sophisticated, well-to-do women gravitated towards her designs and consequently became some of her most loyal customers.
What I find consistently admirable about Nix Designs’ collections are their versatility and variety. Without compromising class and sophistication, they are sold at reasonable prices. They cater to different kinds of styles and looks, may they be bohemian, corporate, or casual.
Amazingly, they easily match one’s outfit. When I went to see Nica on a Saturday, I was wearing a printed purple dress, something difficult to accessorize. Lo and behold, not only was I able to find a necklace that would suit my dress; her cover-up and bangle from the collection gave my entire outfit an astounding majestic oomph!
Oscar Wilde once said, “Be who you are; everybody else is taken.” This is what Nix Designs is all about: staying true to one’s identity. In her unapologetically honest and unpretentious collections, we may find within ourselves the courage to express who we really are. When in Manila, you don’t have to be big or mainstream. You just have to be happy with who you are, and your beauty will shine through naturally.
