6 New OPM Songs and Albums to Add to Your Love Month Playlists

Valentine’s Day may be over, but love is still in the air this month, and it’s not leaving us anytime soon. Sweet gestures, romantic moments, and heartfelt connections continue to light up every street, making ample space for us to appreciate life’s little joys that help us get into the lovey-dovey mood.

Speaking of simple yet meaningful reasons to smile, we can’t let the month of love pass without appreciating one of its pillars—Filipino love songs. Since time immemorial, the world of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) has blessed us with countless ballads, kilig anthems, and mellow tunes that have had us swooning all year long. We can’t help but wear our hearts on our sleeves as these timeless hits fit all kinds of love like a glove.

The local music scene has evolved tremendously from the classic tunes that have defined love stories across every generation. This year, all eyes are on these modern-day storytellers as they earnestly prove that love is worth exploring through various genres and creative outlets.

It won’t be long before these freshly released OPM songs become the soundtrack to our love lives. In fact, some of them may already be in our playlists.

Malayo” by mrld

Sparks fly on the pickleball court in “Malayo,” the latest single from singer-songwriter mrld. She plays a lovestruck pickleball athlete opposite Xyriel Manabat in the song’s music video, which ties in well with the warmth and reassurance that its lyrics radiate. If you’re a pickleball enthusiast who has also experienced love at first sight at one of your open plays, then this dreamy and laid-back track is bound to make your heart flutter.

Multo (Stripped Down)” by Cup of Joe

As if the soul-crushing original version of “Multo” couldn’t satisfy the “yearners” in us enough, Cup of Joe released a stripped-down version of their chart-topping hit for The Loved One. Whether you already watched the well-received film in honor of Valentine’s Day or have yet to see it in cinemas, this tender and emotionally raw rendition of “Multo” is bringing us more feels that we didn’t even know existed.

Sino Ang Tanga” by Maris Racal

Sino Ang Tanga” is the fruit of a hilarious surprise that Maris Racal pulled off with Cup of Joe’s frontman, Gian Bernardino. What seemed to be a “soft launch” between the two artists on social media was actually a teaser for Maris’s new single and music video, which Gian starred in, too. We’ve all been on the receiving end of a messy relationship (or whatever we may call it), and “Sino Ang Tanga” validates our delightfully unhinged thoughts over everything that could’ve been.

Kolorcoaster (Live) by Maki

Still experiencing FOMO, or fear of missing out, over Maki’s one-of-a-kind Kolorcoaster concert last year? Worry not, because the singer-songwriter just released a live version of every track from his debut album of the same name. Fans can revisit each colorful song to relive the magic of his sold-out shows and prepare for his upcoming one, Kolorcoaster: One More Ride, at the Araneta Coliseum on February 21, 2026.

Wander Boy by Rob Deniel

Rob Deniel, one of our modern-day “yearners” in OPM, just released his debut album, and it’s nothing short of sentimental. Wander Boy is a showcase of everything he has learned so far about love in all forms, which also proudly declares his growth as a performer. Rob’s album consists of his hit singles “Rom Com” and “Miss Miss,” as well as numerous new originals that will definitely tug at your heartstrings. We can immediately imagine our favorite fictional and real-life couples upon listening to this sincere and affectionate body of work.

Aking Musika by Wilbert Ross

Aking Musika is a celebration of growth, artistry, and passion that Wilbert Ross spent years bringing to fruition. All nine self-written tracks are reminiscent of his journey in the entertainment world, from joining local singing competitions as a teenager to bagging his first major role in a series as Larkin Sanchez in Golden Scenery of Tomorrow. The album even features a few swoon-worthy songs that Wilbert performed on the show, such as “Maliwanag Mong Mundo,” “Dulo Ng Pahina,” and “Ginintuang Tanawin.”
