In a powerful display of community and climate action, Eastwood City joined forces with the Quezon City local government and WWF Philippines for the “Unplugged” Earth Hour Bike Race.
It was a celebration that brought together nearly 200 cyclists to promote sustainability and energy conservation.

The event kicked off at Quezon City Hall, where local cyclists set off for Eastwood City, symbolically representing the movement toward a greener future. Cyclists wrapped up their ride at Eastwood Mall Open Park, where the area came alive as an eco-conscious hub of celebration.
Leading the ceremonies were key partners and advocates for sustainability: Dick Montes, president of Eastwood City Estate Management (ECEA); Kux Quiogue, general manager of Eastwood City; Hon. Franz Pumaren, QC 3rd District Representative; Atty. Gia Ibay, WWF head of the climate change and energy program, and Anton Calugay, AVP and head of ECEA.

As the lights dimmed for the symbolic Earth Hour switch-off, the park came alive with the soothing sounds of an acoustic performance by rising artist Daniel Paringit. Participants and guests enjoyed the unplugged set under the stars, a fitting reminder of what the world looks and feels like when we pause to care for it.
The event concluded with another round of cycling through Eastwood City’s streets, driving home the message that sustainability isn’t just a one-hour effort but a lifestyle choice that begins with simple, collective action.
Through initiatives like these, Eastwood City continues to show that progress and sustainability can go hand in hand, one pedal at a time.
