National Museum of Natural History Gets Tech Upgrade with Isaiah Cacnio’s Immersive Exhibit

The National Museum of Natural History in the Philippines is undergoing a significant technological transformation, thanks to a substantial donation of cutting-edge display technology from LG Philippines. This upgrade, highlighted by the immersive “Fragments” digital art exhibit by Isaiah Cacnio, is set to revolutionize how visitors engage with the nation’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

At the heart of this tech upgrade is the groundbreaking “Fragments” exhibit, a collaboration between LG and renowned digital and motion graphics artist Isaiah Cacnio. As the first digital artist to be featured at the National Museum, Cacnio’s work showcases the incredible capabilities of LG’s OLED display technology. The exhibit, which ran for an entire month in the Ayala Reception Hall, utilized LG OLED AI TVs to bring the Philippines’ geological and ecological richness to life through three captivating digital pieces: “Where Fire Begins,” “Stories in Stone,” and “What Breaks, Flows.” These pieces, created using mathematical formulas to generate dynamic visuals, seamlessly blend art, science, and emotion, offering a powerful reinterpretation of the Earth’s story.

Beyond the “Fragments” exhibit, LG’s commitment to enhancing the museum experience is evident in its generous donation of over ₱500,000 worth of display technology. This includes a range of LG TVs, including LG StanbyME units, and monitors, all designed to offer a more immersive and dynamic way for visitors to engage with the museum’s galleries. This latest contribution builds on LG’s long-standing partnership with the National Museum of the Philippines, which began with a donation at the museum’s opening in 2018 and has extended to supporting the National Museum of Fine Arts.
