NAIA Lost and Unclaimed Luggage Not For Sale Online

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is warning the public against a fake social media page selling unclaimed luggage and other travelers’ items at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The page, which claims to be NAIA’s official Lost and Found page, is offering the supposedly lost-and-found items for sale online. They are also holding a raffle draw for a chance to win baggage for only P500. However, in order to participate in the raffle, you must provide your bank account details.

MIAA spokesperson Connie Bungag is urging the public to be cautious and avoid transacting with this fake page. “Huwag po kayong magpapa-scam sa mga ganito… We should think twice kapag hiningi na yung bank account mo,” she said. (Do not be scammed by these people… We should think twice if they ask for your bank account.)

Bungag also clarified that lost and found items are taken to storage facilities at the NAIA Terminal 1 after two days. Items that remain unclaimed after six months are auctioned off, but they are never sold online. “All biddings conducted by the NAIA are published,” she said.
