Passengers, take note! LRT-2 will provide free rides at certain hours on April 9.

According to LRT-2’s official Facebook page, all passengers can avail of free train rides on the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) during specific hours in commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan.
“Ang inisyatibong ito ay alay bilang pakikiisa ng LRTA sa pag-alala sa kagitingan, sakripisyo, at kabayanihan ng ating mga bayani na nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa kalayaan ng ating bansa,” it read.
Here are the time schedules for free rides:
- 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM (all passengers)
- 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (all passengers)
Moreover, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) also announced that Filipino veterans can avail of free train rides from April 6 to April 11 in celebration of the 2026 Philippine Veterans Week.
April 9 is a regular holiday in observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor).
