Nadine Lustre’s Legal Dispute With Viva Ends—Here’s What They Said

It’s official: Nadine Lustre has finally settled her legal dispute with management company Viva Artists Agency, a year since the agency filed a lawsuit against her over her alleged “continuous violation” of her contract with them.

In a statement released by Nadine’s counsel Atty. Gideon V. Peña, the two parties have reached an agreement where Nadine will remain with the agency exclusively until 2029 in compliance with their original contract. Nadine, however, will retain control over her own “branding and image.”

“Nadine and Viva have agreed to continue their professional relationship on an exclusive basis until 31 December 2029 with Nadine retaining her rights to decide on matters in connection with her branding and image,” the statement read. “For now, Nadine and Viva remain committed and focused on providing quality entertainment.”

Both parties also agreed to not make any further comments about the issue to “avoid future misunderstandings.”

Viva Artists Agency first issued a warning to Nadine in January 2020 when the actress announced she had “terminated” her contract with them and was now “self-managed.” Nadine’s team at the time called out on the agency for their “unconscionable, oppressive and illegal contract” and for allegedly taking “advantage of young artists in the industry.”

Nadine’s original contract stated that she will remain a Viva talent until June 29, 2029. The agency pushed through with filing a lawsuit in December 2020.

Nadine is set to star in a new film titled “Greed” alongside Epy Quizon and Diego Loyzaga under Viva Films.
