On March 29, 2026, the standout contender on Britain’s Got Talent had the whole crowd and panel of judges on their feet with his sensational rendition of “Purple Rain” by the late Prince.
Matty’s performance even earned a golden buzzer from the one and only Simon Cowell, who was deeply moved by his radiant energy and powerful vocals. Matty then advanced to the competition’s semi-final round, leaving viewers and fans excited for what he had in store for them next.
A month later, on April 26, 2026, Matty proved to the whole world that most things in life are better the second time around. For his semi-finals performance, he pulled off a remarkable rendition of the spine-chilling rock anthem “Dream On” by Aerosmith, and it earned him no less than another standing ovation and his second golden buzzer.
A Performance That Felt Like a Dream
There’s no denying Matty’s vocal prowess and versatility as an artist. He turned the prestigious stage of Britain’s Got Talent into his own concert with just one song, leaving the judges utterly speechless and in awe of his “Filipino throat chakra.”
His “dreamy” cover of the timeless hit by Aerosmith is undoubtedly one for the books, and we can’t wait to see how much further he’ll go after this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon couldn’t help but give Matty the highest of praise. She told him, “I don’t even know what to say! You’re just effortlessly sensational… That was a stellar, masterclass performance!”

For long-time Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, her utter admiration for Matty was better shown than told. That’s why she pressed her golden buzzer for him, bringing him straight to the show’s final round.
Her fellow judge KSI chimed in, “[You’re] fantastic! You’re absolutely incredible. You’re such a great singer, man, and I can’t wait to see more of you.”
Simon Cowell, who gave Matty his first golden buzzer back at auditions, added to the unforgettable moment, saying, “That’s what it’s all about. Your range is incredible, and you’re the sweetest person ever! I’m so happy for you. Two golden buzzers—that’s not bad, right?”
Matty beamed with gratitude for the judges’ and audience’s overwhelming support, made all the more special with his family in the crowd.
