In an interview on Kylie Verzosa’s Almost Honest podcast, Mimiyuuuh finally addressed the controversy, clarifying that she never meant to insinuate that Heart’s wealth and lavish lifestyle came from questionable sources.

“It’s just so weird na pinupuri lang namin si Ms. Anne for being [a] clean money girl, kasi totoo naman na she really works hard for everything that she has, period! I’m not pertaining to other people,” the vlogger said.

“Just because hindi kita napuri na clean money girl ka… just because hindi ko nabanggit yung pangalan mo, it doesn’t mean na you’re a dirty money girl,” Mimiyuuuh added.

She then cited Vice Ganda as an example, pointing out that the comedian did not take offense at her decision to single out Anne for the compliment.

“Oh, let’s say si Meme (Vice Ganda), ba’t hindi siya na-offend na: ‘Ay, ba’t di ako sinabi ni Mimi na clean money girl, eh clean money girl din naman ako,’ diba?” she added.

Mimiyuuuh also explained that her statement was meant to recognize people who work hard and earn an honest living, regardless of their profession.

“Kasi we need to praise people na nagtatrabaho nang marangal, diba? ‘Yung mga janitor—like everyone, kailangan natin sila i-praise, and ‘yun ‘yung point ko, ‘yun lang ‘yon, period! Wala akong hine-hate. Wala akong mini-mean na ibang people—it’s to celebrate people who work hard and galing sa malinis. ‘Yun naman ang aking point doon,” she said.

The content creator also lamented the backlash she received over her “clean money” remark, saying her statement was never meant to put other personalities down.

During the interview, Mimiyuuuh further shared that she believes much of the criticism directed at her stems from misunderstandings.

“Feeling ko, ang hate, nanggagaling siya sa misunderstanding. So, I don’t think [hine-hate nila ako,] nami-misunderstood lang nila ako,” she added.

For Mimiyuuuh, online bashing does not necessarily equate to genuine hatred. She explained that hate is a strong and complex emotion that people should be careful about directing toward individuals they do not personally know.

“Ang nakikita lang naman nila—’yung pinagbabasehan nila, is yung nakikita nila sa social media. Hindi naman nila ako kilala personally, ‘di ba? So, parang medyo mababaw ang rason for you to hate on other people kung nakikita mo lang is yung sa social media,” Mimiyuuuh said.
