Earlier this week, Alex Gonzaga was seen smearing cake icing on waiter Allan Crisostomo’s forehead during her birthday party.
The video spread on social media, and the actress met with Crisostomo to personally apologize. In a statement obtained by ABS-CBN, the waiter said “Ok na po kami.” [“We are now okay.”]

Gonzaga’s husband Mikee Morada is now speaking up about what happened.
“Madami na ang nasabi tungkol sa aking misis dahil sa nangyari noong kanyang birthday celebration. Bilang asawa at head ng aming pamilya, nais ko lang sabihin na nagkamali ang aking asawa,” he began.
[“A lot has been said about my wife because of what happened at her birthday celebration. As the husband and head of the family, I just want to say that my wife made a mistake.”]
Morada also said, “Madaming mga rason na maari kong sabihin kung bakit niya nagawa iyon pero walang excuse sa kanyang pagkakamali. Nagkamali talaga siya. Na recognize niya ang kanyang pagkakamali at napagdesisyonan na agad na humingi ng dispensa kay Kuya Allan. Pero kahit na sa kanyang paghingi ng dispensa at gawin ay may masasabi pa din sa kanya.“
[“I can give a lot of reasons as to why she did that but there is no excuse. She really made a mistake. She recognized her mistake and decided right away to apologize to Kuya Allan. Even if she apologized, people will still have something to say.”]
Morada accepts that but admits it still hurts. He said, “Tanggap natin yan pero bilang asawa masakit yung mga nababasa ko na sobra naman na pati ang pinagdaanan nya bilang babae ay naungkat pa. Kahit nagkakamali ang isang tao wala pa rin tayo karapatan murahin ito. Pinili ni Alex ang maging tahimik at nagawa na ng asawa ko ang paghingi ng dispensa sa taong pinaka naapektohan sa nangyaring ito, kay Kuya Allan.”
[“We accept that but as the husband, it hurts to read that even her experiences as a woman have been brought up. We don’t have the right to use curse words even if she made a mistake. Alex chose to keep silent and my wife already apologized to the person the incident has affected the most, which is Kuya Allan.”]
Morada added, “Nakakahiya din sa employer ni Kuya Allan na ngayon ay napilitan nang maglabas ng statement dahil ayaw silang tigilan ng mga nais na lalong magpalaki ng isyung ito. Humihingi kami ng paumanhin sa inyo.”
[“It’s also embarrassing to Kuya Allan’s employer who was forced to release a statement because of the people who want to make the issue bigger. We are asking for your forgiveness.”]
He ended his statement with, “Catherine, masakit at mahirap na lesson ito pero ang mahalaga ay ginawa mo ang dapat mong gawin at inako mo ang iyong pagkakamali. Patuloy man ang mga masasabing hindi maganda patungkol sa iyo at sa atin ay nandito ako para sa iyo. Pero may awa Ang Panginoon, dadating ang oras maghihilom din ang lahat. I love you!”
[“Catherine, it hurts and this is a hard lesson but what’s important is that you did what you had to do and admitted your mistake. They may continue saying hurtful things about you and us but I am here for you. The Lord is forgiving and the time will come when everything will heal. I love you!”]
