The Prom follows four “long-ago” famous Broadway actors who travel to the fictional conservative town of Edgewater, Indiana after reading about a lesbian student who was not allowed to bring her girlfriend to her prom. They go under the guise of helping the girl, although they also just kind of want to be relevant again.

The Prom is set to start production in December and is aiming for a fall 2020 release just in time for awards season.
