If you know me, you know my entire life revolves around music. Whether I’m discovering indie tracks or screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs at a concert, music is like me oxygen. Plus, I’m a major A’TIN. So when I scored an invite to Sony’s Beyond the Beat: The Next-Level ULT POWER SOUND Experience at COVE Manila, I couldn’t believe my luck.
Walking into COVE Manila felt like stepping into a dream. The scale of Sony’s biggest ULT POWER SOUND launch yet was mind-blowing, and the energy in the room was electric from the second we stepped through the doors. Everywhere I looked; fellow music lovers, creators, and stans were buzzing with excitement.

My heart was already beating a million miles an hour after I swapped the photo card I got the entrance for my SB19 bias Ken, but it went into overdrive when the ULT Squad was officially unveiled. Let’s be real: seeing some of the country’s most exciting artists and personalities all in one place was a treat on its own. Seeing David Guison, Jacqueline Jala, and Angelique Manto-Guison (who hosted the night with so much flair!) bring fashion and sound together was so chic.

And the performances? Absolute perfection. A-Team opened the night with a high-energy dance set that had everyone glued to the stage, followed by the soulful, distinct presence of Carlos Serrano III and the smooth musicality of Jeremy G. Then KAIA hit the stage with their infectious, youthful pop energy.

And then came the grand finale. Seeing SB19 make their first official appearance as the newest members of the Sony ULT Squad? Unbelievable! As a massive A’TIN, watching them share the stage with a powerhouse brand like Sony, representing the absolute peak of OPM culture, was a total goosebumps moment.

Of course, as a true music nerd, I couldn’t wait to check out the hardware. Sony’s President and Managing Director, Shuhei Sugihara, kicked off the night, while Product Marketing Specialist Keira Ambubuyog and Senior Marketing Communications Executive Arbie Bandiling introduced the stars of the show: the ULT TOWER MAX, ULT TOWER 7, and ULT TOWER 5.
