Mar Roxas visited the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJR), a private university in Cebu last November 12, 2015. He discussed his impending plans for the Philippines, as expected from a presidential candidate. However, Mar Roxas apparently joked by pronouncing “step by step” as “isteep bay isteep,” trying to do a Visayan accent impression. This was taken as a “bad joke” by his audience — a university with outstanding English speakers.
Kristian Caumeran corrected, “Sir, the Visayan term for “step by step” is “ginagmay’ng lakang.” He added, “But since you came from a superior dialect, we’ll just let this pass.”
Ms. Jessa deemed Roxas as, “such an arrogant person.” She also said that Mar Roxas was the first ever politician who made fun of the way they speak in English.
Do you think Mar Roxas’ joke was out of line? What do you think about this issue?

Standing in the middle in all of this is perfectly fine
Except the fact that HE IS A POLITICIAN ( WELL, SO-CALLEDSO-CALLED TO BE EXACT). THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE to use this joke is when of friends who understand the humor of the matter. True not every Cebuano will be able to polish their English very well, but it does not mean through time they are stuck there. When Roxas made this joke, he made it clear how the modicum of respect and decency never applied him. Ohhh what horrors our country would be should this imbecile reign. Monitoring shit as much as he should not be. Campaign while making change is better yanking strings you cannot reach. Please Roxas, do yourself a favor and read a book or two that may teach you manners. Stressed out is not an excuse by the way. Dumbass.
Ikw yawaa kang plastika ka!!! Imong among monggol na bayot! Ayw kumpyansa sa mga bisaya du! Bntay lng kag mo adto ka dri sa davao! Ipapatay tkang angkol digong! HahahH
To correct Mr Roxas, not all Bisaya speaks that way. Besides, Visayan People are one of the best group in terms of speaking English. So shut it Mar. Pity. Never belittle us because we can pull your votes downhill “step-by-step”. You exaggerated it and I hope your platforms are not as exaggerated as it is.
The hostility against Tagalogs and their supposedly “superior language” is uncalled for. It was one stupid one making a very distasteful joke. Wag nyo kami idamay. In fact we’d gladly give that creature back to you.
Papogi gone bad
