To celebrate both Duty Free’s 30th anniversary and the nearing Christmas season, one-half of the adorable #AlDub love team graced Duty Free Fiestamall with her presence. In an event dedicated to our balikbayan countrymen, Maine Mendoza (together with the hilarious Ate Oreo) charmed Duty Free shoppers with their witty and charismatic hosting skills!
Shoppers who spent at least $100 were given the chance to join games and win premium items like headphones, umbrellas, and Maine’s autobiography, Yup, I Am That Girl. Those who spent $400 were entered in a raffle to win an intimate dinner with the Dubsmash Queen herself!
When Maine first came in, surprising everyone with an energetic and exhilarating dance number, everyone brought out their phones to take photos and videos of their Eat Bulaga idol. Her wide smile immediately brought out cheers and hollers from the excited crowd.
Fans of all ages (from our beloved lolas, titas, ates, and even lolos, titos, and kuyas) took part in the contests Maine and Ate Oreo hosted. They were given the opportunity to join exciting games such as Duty Free Henyo, Bring Me, How Well Do You Know Maine?, and charades.
The games all had exciting twists to them. Duty Free Henyo was as the name suggests–a tricky game of Pinoy Henyo featuring words related to our favorite place to buy pasalubongs (speaking of–“pasalubong” was actually one of the words they had to guess!). Even Bring Me was exciting: only clues to the requested items were given, so players had to guess what the objects were! The game of charades was centered on the theme Christmas. Of course, die-hard fans showed how much they loved Yaya Dub in How Well Do You Know Maine? where their knowledge of the star (and their competitive streaks) shone through.
Indeed, returning to our beautiful country was made even more exciting for fans of the Dubsmash Queen this Christmas season, all thanks to our favorite balikbayan hangout. Stop by Duty Free Fiestamall to get the full Duty Free experience!
