LOOK: This Chill Hidden Cafe Offers Cold Brew Drinks and Colorful Lattes

It feels like stars align when you’ve discovered a hole-in-the-wall cafe that instantly becomes a favorite with that first sip of coffee.

That’s exactly what happened when we found Do Güd Cafe.

Do GüD Cafe is a small-scale alfresco cafe in Marikina City. It may be considered a hidden cafe, but once your GPS brings you to a stop, it’s quite easy to find it. The cafe is actually located in the front yard of a corner lot in a residential area. With their gate fully open for customers, the outdoor cafe feels inviting and extra welcoming.

You’ll be welcomed by makeshift stools and coffee tables built by the owners themselves with recycled wood. It’s easy to feel the different vibe that this cafe offers, thanks to the lush plants around, the rattan and wooden furniture, and even the neon sign hanging from the ceiling. The styling of their space makes you feel like you’re having coffee in a beachside cafe. But strangely enough, it also feels like chilling in the front yard of a friend’s house. In a nutshell, Do Güd Cafe is such a relaxing place to enjoy great drinks and coffee.

While we loved the vibe and space of the cafe, it’s their menu that made them one of our favorite cafes.

Do Güd Cafe uses only cold brew for their coffee-based drinks. Cold brew coffee is known to be less acidic, so if you can’t enjoy espresso-based drinks in your usual cafes, Do Güd Cafe makes sure that you won’t miss out. I personally love cold brew, and it is such a delight to learn that there is a coffee spot that exclusively uses cold brew.

Even if you’re not a fan of cold brew, their wide variety of delicious coffee drinks is worth the visit! Their menu actually includes a lot of new must-try drinks aside from the classic iced coffee flavors.

Some of their best-selling original drinks include the Biscoffee, which is based on the iconic shortbread cookie; and the Harry Potter-inspired Butterbeer Latte. But if you want to stick to the classics, their Spanish Latte is also amazing.

Not such a fan of coffee? You don’t have to miss out! Do Güd Cafe also offers non-coffee lattes that are super colorful and IG-worthy.

Their Blueberry Matcha is one of their bestsellers because of the unconventional combination. A lot of their regular customers enjoy the unique mix of flavors that leave them pleasantly surprised. The fact that it’s extra colorful and Instagrammable is an added bonus.

Another colorful drink you have to try is the Purple Drink which is essentially a taro latte.

You can also enjoy their desserts (or snacks) of the week which are provided by their other small business partners. Every week, they collaborate with different start-up businesses around the area and offer their products in the cafe to support fellow entrepreneurs.

Wondering about their name? Mara de Guzman, one of the owners of Do Güd Cafe, shares with WhenInManila.com that the name serves as a reminder to keep doing good and be kinder to the people around you, especially in these trying times. You will most definitely experience this mantra at work once you visit the cafe. The owners themselves are extremely helpful, welcoming, and friendly.

If you feel like you need to work some of that excess energy from your cold brew drinks, they also have a small gym upstairs. It’s an unconventional mix of spaces, but it works! And we can see why Do Güd Cafe has instantly become a neighborhood favorite in Marikina.

Do Güd Cafe offers a wonderfully relaxing vibe, great coffee and drinks, and amazing people. We guarantee that it’s worth a visit!
