Miss Universe queen Catriona Gray has taken to Instagram to give a message to fans and friends about the importance of fighting for and speaking up about what you believe in.
On her post, she shared a video of herself breaking free from the many hands that are covering her mouth—a symbol of her refusal to let herself be silenced.
“Please don’t ever allow your voice to be silenced. You never know [whose] life may be impacted by your words,” she said in the caption. “You never know who you’ll help feel seen, courageous or comforted. When you speak up for yourself, know that in sharing your stories, you’re speaking up for others too.”
Her post comes in the wake of the ongoing controversy regarding a statement made on the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict’s Facebook page criticizing her and other actresses for their support for women’s group Gabriela.
