If you’re looking to start your own vegetable garden, the Department of Agriculture has got your back. With the pandemic, it is a good idea to grow your own vegetables so you don’t have to rely on getting groceries all the time.
With this, The Department of Agriculture Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) is giving away free vegetable seeds and seedlings amid the COVID-19 crisis. In a Facebook post last Sunday, they announced that you can visit them from Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM to get the seedlings.
People who are going to the DA-BPI are encouraged to wear face masks and observe proper social distancing. They said that this is a way to eat healthy amid the COVID-19 crisis. And due to the challenges we are facing now, they also encourage people to save the seeds from the vegetables and fruits that they buy.
The seeds and seedlings are available at BPI, Malate (692 San Andres St. Malate- near LRT Quirino ) and Quezon City (Visayas Ave., Diliman, near QC Circle) offices.
